For the Cutlite Penta interview series, we caught up with Jérôme Baguelin, CEO of Cutlite France. His resourcefulness and attention to customer needs enabled Cutlite to expand into the French market with excellent results in a short time. We asked him about his experience and his views on the company. This is what he said –
Tell us about yourself
My name is Jérôme Baguelin and I am the CEO of Cutlite France. After specialising in industrial maintenance techniques, I was a technician for 10 years at a Japanese company. Then I became Service Manager of the Pays de Loire division. In 2007, I created BTMO, a company specialising in sales and after-sales for sheet metal working machines. We sell different types of systems and most of them are sourced from Italy.
How did you get to know about Cutlite Penta?
After selling a Vimercati press brake, I came to Italy with the customer to pick up the machine. The customer wanted to acquire a laser from a manufacturer by integrating production of the focusing head. When I heard about Cutlite Penta, I immediately contacted Sales Manager Alessio Innocenti, who gave me a tour of the plant.
The tour won me over and convinced me that Cutlite Penta was the right choice. I bought my first laser machine which I displayed in my showroom and by the end of the open house at BTMO, several customers placed orders for the system.
After a year of successful partnership, we decided to create Cutlite France together in 2021. We have already sold over 20 Cutlite Penta laser machines in France and continue to expand in the French market.
Why did you choose to work for them?
I was looking for a manufacturer to manage the entire production process and, particularly, the focusing head. I noticed that Cutlite Penta provided technology tailored to customer needs
What do you consider your corporate values to be?
My goal is customer satisfaction and I consider kindness to be key. I also look after customers post-sale.
In your opinion, why should customers choose Cutlite Penta?
Because Cutlite specialises in lasers and they carry out all the engineering in-house. Lastly, they place emphasis on the quality and speed of their after-sales service.
